Clemson Football held their All-In Cookout this past Friday

The All-In Cookout brings in several members of the program’s next class, and occasionally is used to recruit uncommitted prospects as well.

This season the focus was on current verbal commitments. Several of the seventeen recruits from the Class of 2024 were on hand, including Darien Mayo, Sammy Brown and Ricardo Jones.

Checking in on Clemson’s class in the 247Sports Composite rankings, the Tigers are currently 8th in the nation, with the seventh best average player rating.

Another dead period for recruiting begins soon, so this was likely the last opportunity for the recruits to visit campus and meet with the staff before their high school seasons begin.

TJ Dudley has announced his transfer destination

Former Clemson Football linebacker TJ Dudley has announced he plans to transfer Ole Miss.

Dudley was a member of the Class of 2022 and played sparingly last season. Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney spoke briefly about Dudley’s dismissal at ACC Kickoff:

“It’s a disappointing situation because he’s a good kid and a man. He had a chance to be a great player for us this year. So, that definitely hurts us. But it’s unfortunate. You’ve got rules, and sometimes it’s just best to get a fresh start. So, wish him well.”

Dudley’s departure leaves Clemson with six scholarship linebackers for the 2023 season.

Clemson Women’s Lacrosse achieves high marks in the classroom

Clemson Women’s Lacrosse will begin their second season this coming spring. They had a great first campaign and are looking to build upon that.

Last week, Clemson announced that fourteen members of the squad were named to the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Division I Academic Honor Roll. Students must have a 3.50 GPA or higher to be named to the list. 949 students across the country from 96 institutions were named to the list. Since Clemson’s program is relatively new, this was the first time they were eligible for inclusion.
