Clemson Men’s Basketball will look to get back on the winning track tonight when they host the Syracuse Orange in Littlejohn Coliseum at 7:00 PM.

The Tigers have lost four of their last five contests. Three of those games were on the road to Boston College, North Carolina, and Louisville. Their lone home defeat in this stretch was a four-point loss to a good Miami squad. Their win was a 40-point victory over Florida State at home, so there is reason to hope that playing in Littlejohn will give Clemson a boost.

If Clemson can turn their fortunes around, the time is now. Most projections have them on the wrong side of the NCAA tournament bubble, usually as one of the first eight teams out.

Senior forward Hunter Tyson leads the Tigers in scoring (15.3 per game) and rebounds (9.4 per game). Junior guard Chase Hunter leads the team in assists with 4.2 per game and is also contributing 14.3 points per game.

Senior guard Joe Girard leads the Orange with 17.0 points per game. Senior center Jesse Edwards leads Syracuse in rebounds with 10.2 per game. Freshman guard Judah Mintz leads the team in assists with 4.5 per game.

Clemson Men’s Basketball is a 4.5 point favorite over the Orange, with an over/under of 144.5 points

Clemson is a 4.5-point favorite with a total of 144.5 implying a 74.5-70.0 Clemson win.

John Chancey (18-9, 10-17 ATS):

Syracuse lost to Duke in their most recent contest, but they won three straight before that, including a victory over NC State. Jim Boeheim has an annoying way of always getting his team to peak at the right time. Clemson looks like they just weren’t ready for primetime. If you are an ACC team trying to find your confidence in late February, the last team you want to play is the Orange.

Marty Coleman (18-9, 11-16 ATS):

This is the part of the season where predicting what Clemson will do is almost impossible, but let’s go with this: The Tigers have stumbled down the stretch and are almost surely out of the Big Dance, so they’ll undoubtedly play well and frustrate Clemson fans.

Clemson shoots well at home and – what a waste – is No. 3 in the nation in free throw shooting and that gives them the edge here.
