There is no doubt this past weekend was a big one for the Clemson Football Class of 2024 and it didn’t disappoint Tiger fans.

Clemson fans love to say if we can get them on campus, we got a shot and that seemed to be the case for at least a couple of players over the weekend.

There was the surprise commitment of Champ Thompson Saturday night and the social media posts of rave reviews from many of the attendees and perhaps more good news to come.

Clemson had 4 of the top 22 rated defensive players in the nation on campus, and while there were high-level offensive players on campus, too, from the looks of it, this was focused on defensive studs for whatever reason.

In addition to the commitment of Thompson, a 4-star corner out of Philadelphia, Omillio Agard, was given a crystal ball to Clemson.

Not just any crystal ball, but one by Steve Wiltfong, who is 50 for 50 on his predictions per the 247sports.com website.

Things could certainly change.  There’s a long way to go till early signing day, but this is great news for Clemson as they attempt to regain a foothold closer to the top of the recruiting rankings.

Agard is ranked No. 258 nationally in the 247 composite, coming in at the No. 22 corner and 5th ranked player in Pennsylvania.

Agard reports offers from Penn State, Alabama, Florida State, LSU and many others, so he’s a hot commodity despite his place just outside of the top 250.

Thompson’s commitment puts the Tigers at No. 15 in the early 2024 rankings and gives them their third 4-Star recruit, with the only exception being specialist Nolan Houser.

The other current members of the 2024 Class for Clemson include Christian Bentancur, tight end, No. 102 overall from Woodstock, IL, Tavoy Feagin, safety, No. 169 overall from Tampa, FL and Hauser a kicker from Cornelius, NC.

Many of the Tigers high-level targets were on campus over the weekend including No. 3 overall Mike Matthews, No. 4 overall KJ Bolden, No. 22 overall Sammy Brown and No. 72 overall Hevin Brown-Shuler, all defensive players.

We’ll have more on the returns from Clemson’s Elite Junior Day event as the week goes on.
