Clemson Football: New 2024 quarterback offer out
Earlier in the week, we mentioned that Clemson football had missed out on a pair of 2024 quarterbacks.
D.J. Lagway of Willis, Texas decided to take his talents to Gainesville, Florida and it looks like Jadyn Davis has his eyes on a Big Ten program.
The transfers of D.J. Uiagalelei and Billy Wiles along with Hunter Johnson completing his eligibility will again leave the Tigers mighty thin at quarterback, with Cade Klubnik and his 46 pass attempts being the veteran of the group.
Soon, Class of 2023 5-star recruit Chris Vizzina will be on campus to fill one of those empty chairs, but in these days of transfer portal windows and NIL, you can never have too many quarterbacks and the Tigers need one for the Class of 2024.
To that end, Clemson has apparently offered Walker White of Little Rock Christian Academy in Little Rock, Arkansas.
The 6’3, 215 pound White is a 4 star recruit, ranked No. 142 overall and the No. 13 quarterback in the 247sports composite for the Class of 2024.
247sports.com itself has White ranked much higher at No. 92 overall and as the 8th ranked quarterback in the class.
Given White’s location and talent, there’s a pile of SEC offers on his desk, including Arkansas, Alabama, Ole Miss, LSU and Florida, with a slew of other names from around the country, including a recent offer from Baylor.
For the 2021 season, While completed 129 of 238 passes for 2,010 yards with 23 touchdowns and 11 interceptions and for this season (junior year), he’s 142 for 267 for 1,975 yards with 25 touchdowns and 9 interceptions and another 837 yards and 16 touchdowns on the ground.
White is an Arkansas legacy, but appears to be open minded about where he could end up at the next level and in September indicated a decision could be coming in the first quarter of 2023.
White has received many more offers since that interview, including the most recent one from Clemson, so the timing of his decision may have changed.
