Both Clemson football and the North Carolina Tar Heels hope to right their respective ships and win an ACC Championship Saturday night in Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte.

The Tigers are coming off a heartbreaking 31-30 loss to rival South Carolina, while North Carolina has lost two straight, including last week to rival North Carolina State who was playing their fourth-string quarterback.

A few weeks ago, with both teams at 9-1 this looked like a marquee game, but now, with neither team having any hope of making the College Football Playoff one has to wonder if motivation will be a factor.

Clemson struggled to cover South Carolina’s receivers last week, which does not bode well against a North Carolina team led by Drake Maye.  Couple that with the Tigers inability to pass the ball and you have a recipe for a potential upset.

Here is the game information and how to watch, including a streaming option.

Clemson football needs to rely on the run game and ball control to win the ACC Championship

After last week’s loss Will Shipley said he wanted the ball more and I believe that’s what will happen this week in Charlotte.  Look for the Tigers to try and control the ball and clock and keep Drake Maye and the Tar Heel offense on the sidelines as much as possible.

The season will have a totally different feel if the Tigers are unable to win the ACC Championship.  Just last week the Tigers were positioned to perhaps return to the College Football Playoff and had a 14-0 lead against their rival at home where they had a 40-game winning streak.

All that ended less than three hours later as Clemson couldn’t close the deal and now the Tigers face a huge challenge in Charlotte.
