Clemson Football: Predicting the 3rd CFP Rankings

Clemson Football won against Louisville last Saturday, so it will be a more relaxed week for the Tigers in the newest College Football Playoff Top 25 than it was following their loss to Notre Dame.

That won’t be the case for everyone. Eight teams from last week’s Top 25 lost this past weekend, including Oregon, who was ranked ahead of Clemson at #6.

With only two more weekends until the conference championships are decided, some of the most realistic scenarios for the playoffs are starting to become clearer.

If you want a quick list of the teams that Clemson fans should be pulling for this coming weekend, send some good thoughts towards these programs:

UCLA Bruins
Baylor Bears
Illinois Fighting Illini
Kentucky Wildcats
Maryland Terrapins
UAB Blazers

There is one other team that is playing a contender this weekend, but I know you don’t want to hear about that one.

Are their odds good? Not really. UCLA has a shot at USC. The rest are big underdogs, but weekends like this when there don’t seem to be many good matchups usually produce the biggest surprises.

Here are my expectations for this week’s Top 25 when it is revealed Tuesday evening, and how it impacts Clemson’s prospects for the post-season.
