This is the current Resume Top 25:

1. Clemson: 32.25

2. Georgia: 26

3. Michigan: 25

T4. Ole Miss: 24 – The Rebels have quietly put together a solid resume. They benefitted from Kentucky finding a way to stay in the Top 25.

T4. TCU: 24 – Perhaps the biggest rags to riches story of 2022, the Horned Frogs hold the cards in the Big 12.

T6. Tennessee: 23

T6. Alabama: 23 – If you are going to lose, lose to a Top 25 team on the road. That ding doesn’t hurt quite as much.

8. USC: 21 – If you are going to lose, lose to a Top 25 team on the road. That ding doesn’t hurt quite as much.

9. North Carolina: 20 – In the preseason, I didn’t think Miami would be very good, but I figured they would win the Coastal because every other team would be worse. I was right, but instead it is UNC that is better than the others. The resume score doesn’t care. It just sees the Tar Heels getting (mostly) W’s.

10. Ohio State: 19

T11. UCLA: 18 – The Bruins were resume darlings a couple weeks ago with two big wins, but now their warts are showing. Like Ohio State, they have only played on the road once, and this week their score was stagnant with a bye week.

T11. Penn State: 18 – Those two early road wins don’t stand out as much anymore, and now they have lost their first chance to make a big statement. Ohio State travels to Happy Valley in a few weeks.

T11. Tulane: 18 – Nothing boosts a resume like a road win over a Top 25 opponent, which Tulane boasts. If they hadn’t had a hangover the next weekend at home against a G5 opponent, they would be ranked much higher. As it is they are still almost Top 10.

14. Kansas State: 17 – On the other hand, the Wildcats will continue to lament the hiccup against Tulane in Manhattan. Three ranked opponents await in the next three weeks.

15. Oregon: 16.75 – The Ducks have won five straight after their opening weekend loss to Georgia, but the strength of their opponents hasn’t been that daunting. They take on UCLA in a huge matchup this weekend. The winner will be the lone PAC team with no losses.

T16. Syracuse: 16 – They have had a good season. The resume scores say Purdue is a much better win than we thought when it happened. The Tigers are favored by almost two touchdowns this coming weekend, so the oddsmakers don’t favor the Orange to continue this run, but they are in a good position to finish no worse than third in the Coastal.

T16. Illinois: 16 – The Illini are making a strong push to be the sacrificial lamb in the Big Ten championship game. They do have to play Michigan before they get there, but if they own the tiebreaker against all their divisional opponents, it won’t matter.

T18. Wake Forest: 15 – They had a bye week, so no changes.

T18. Purdue: 15 – The Boilermakers are also in contention in the Big Ten West and only have Illinois in the way.

20. Oklahoma State: 14 – The loss to TCU hurt the Cowboys a bit, and they were already behind in resume score because of an early bye, but they will have their chances to catch up. They have two ranked opponents in the next two games.

21. LSU: 13.5 – I struggle to accept that the Bayou Bengals have a Top 25 resume score but they do. They are a high ceiling/low floor squad in their first year of head coach Brian Kelly.

T22. Utah: 13 – Just when I think the Utes should just go away until next year, they beat the Trojans in a thriller. I can’t say they don’t have a good win anymore, but those two losses continue to set them back.

T22. Mississippi State: 13 – Credit where credit is due: I said Mississippi State would wet the bed against Arkansas because The Pirate has been incredibly inconsistent in his career, but they didn’t. They instead wet the bed against Kentucky. They play Alabama next. Tradition says they should look good this weekend, but tradition also says Nick Saban has made this week a living hell for his players, sooooo……

T22. Kansas: 13 – I’m not going to dog on the Jayhawks. I think their turnaround is legit, they will finish in the top half of the league and if Leopold stays, they will continue to improve. It just looks like there are four very good teams ahead of them in the Big 12 right now, and they caught a Sooner squad that was fighting for life.

T25. Maryland: 12 – Fear the turtle…a little. That’s all I have to say about Maryland right now. I reserve the right to change that if they give me a reason.

T25. Oregon State: 12 – Whaaa? I see you Corvallis. Keep it up.

T25. South Alabama: 12 – Alright, which one of you has been screwing with my spreadsheet? Seriously, good for you Jaguars. You have the lead in the Sun Belt West.
