Clemson football will take on the Syracuse Orange on Saturday, October 22nd at noon ET, with the game scheduled to be broadcast on ABC.

Both teams are currently 5-0 on the season and Syracuse hosts North Carolina State while Clemson travels to Tallahassee to face Florida State this coming weekend, so there’s certainly no guarantee of a matchup of unbeaten teams when the teams get together in 12 days.

Clemson is currently a 4.5 point favorite over Florida State, while the Syracuse is listed as a 3 point favorite over North Carolina State, likely due at least in part to the injury to Wolfpack quarterback Devin Leary.

Clemson has had a run of nationally televised games, four of them in primetime, with a fifth coming this Saturday against the Seminoles.

Some Clemson fans are unhappy with the time of the game, believing that a game of this importance, perhaps between two undefeated squads, warrants a 3:30 EST start or perhaps even another night affair.

Generally, Syracuse fans are thought to be satisfied with the time, believing the atmosphere inside Death Valley would be much tougher at night.

Clemson is ranked 4th in this week’s AP Poll, while Syracuse comes in at 18th.

While Syracuse was off last weekend, the Tigers won’t have a week off until after the game with the Orange, which also will be homecoming for the Tigers.

While the 2020 matchup between the two teams in Clemson was not close, Syracuse very nearly derailed Clemson’s eventual 2018 undefeated National Championship team, leading most of the game in Death Valley before Chase Brice, Tee Higgins and Travis Etienne led the Tigers back from the brink and to a 27-23 victory.

Clemson’s defense appears to be getting healthier at the right time as the Tigers are in the meat of their ACC schedule along with a non-conference game with Notre Dame in the immediate future.
