Clemson Football: Time for Tigers game in Boston announced
This appears to be the year of the night game for Clemson football as the Tigers game at Boston College on October 15th was designated as a night game, either 7:30 EST on the ACC Network or 8:00 EST on ABC, pending the outcome of the games this Saturday.
For Clemson this will be the third consecutive night game and fourth in the first six games of the 2022 season, following a Labor Day night opener against Georgia Tech and night games against Louisiana Tech and North Carolina State.
For Boston College, the game has two designations – Homecoming and the Red Bandana Game, the game that honors 9/11 hero Welles Crowther, who lost his life saving 18 people while using a red bandana to slow smoke inhalation.
The Eagles will wear special “Red Bandana” uniforms for the game.
Boston College has struggled out of the gate this season and is off to a 1-3 record, losing to Rutgers and Virginia Tech and beating Maine, before getting thumped by Florida State last weekend.
The offensive line, typically a strong suit of the Boston College offense, has been an issue for the Eagles all season and they totalled just 235 yards against Florida State.
On the season, Boston College is tied for 121st in total offense, averaging 283.2 yards per game and have scored 11 offensive touchdowns in four games.
For reference, Clemson is averaging 458.5 yards per game and has scored 22 offensive touchdowns in four games.
The Clemson football game at Boston College on October 8 will be the Tigers 3rd straight night game and fourth of the season
Depending on the outcome of this weekend’s games the Tigers could be ripe for a letdown after a heartstopping victory over a top 25 Wake Forest team and a top 10 matchup against North Carolina State in what has become a heated matchup over the last several years.
Not only that, but the game is the week prior to a trip to Tallahassee where the Tigers will take on rival Florida State.
