Clemson football released it’s week one depth chart on Tuesday and, as is the style these days, there are plenty of “or” included.

Dabo Swinney indicated last week that he didn’t really care who “ran out there first” and he proved it with 7 positions on defense alone including “or” in the listing.

There’s been plenty of interest in the offensive line in camp and at times the possibilities were difficult to keep up with, but here’s how it landed:

Will Putnam is at center, Jordan McFadden at left tackle, Marcus Tate at left guard, true freshman Blake Miller at right tackle and Walker Parks at right guard.

As anticipated, Miller will start immediately at right tackle and move Walker Parks inside in an attempt to get the best 5 lineman on the field.

The tight end is Davis Allen, followed by Jake Briningstool.

At wide receiver, Clemson listed Brannon Spector in the slot with true freshman Antonio Williams as the second name.

The slot is a crucial spot for the offense and one that has been missing since the departure of Amari Rodgers and it’ll be interesting to see how this develops over the season.  I see Spector as more of a steady veteran with more upside from Williams, but he’ll have to prove it on the field.

The other wide outs are Joseph Ngata and E.J. Williams OR Beaux Collins.

Will Shipley is the lead running back as anticipated, with Kobe Pace OR Phil Mafah listed behind him.

As anticipated the quarterback is D.J. Uiagalelei, followed by Cade Klubnik.

On defense it looks like K.J. Henry gets the start in place of the injured Xavier Thomas, but perhaps the big news is the other end where there’s an OR situation with Myles Murphy and Justin Mascoll.

Both defensive tackles include OR with Ruke Orhorhoro listed as the OR for both Bryan Bresee and Tyler Davis.

Barrett Carter is the starter at Sam Linebacker, with another OR at the Mike between Jeremiah Trotter, Jr. and Keith McGuire, with Trenton Simpson the starter at the Will.

The backend of the defense is full of the OR as both cornerback positions include the phrase – with Sheridan Jones and Nate Wiggins at one corner and Fred Davis II and Wiggins at the other.

Andrew Mukuba is listed as the starting strong safety and Jalyn Phillips OR Tyler Venables listed as the starter at free.

This is a talented and deep defense, even without Thomas or Tre Williams who are recovering from injury.

Clemson football released it’s depth chart for the opener with Georgia Tech on Tuesday

B.T. Potter is your place kicker and kick off man in addition to being listed as the punter in an OR situation with Aidan Swanson.

Potter doing triple duty is an interesting angle to think about long term, as he’s already talked about having to rest his leg and the season hasn’t even started.  In my mind, I’m hoping Swanson is able to take some of those reps off of Potter and this doesn’t effect Potter’s long distance kicks and kickoffs.

Phillip Florenzo is the long snapper for place kicks, while Holden Caspersen is the snapper for punts.  The two back each other up in those respective positions.

Drew Swinney is the holder and he’s backed up by his brother Clay.

The punt returner is Will Taylor and kickoff returns will be handled by Will Shipley OR Phil Mafah

dark. Next. When is it Klubnik time?
