Clemson football: Things to keep an eye on as camp opens

The 2022 Clemson football season officially kicks into gear on Friday as fall camp opens. The Tigers will have about a month to prepare for the upcoming season and their opening game against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on Labor Day Monday in Atlanta.

Clemson’s 2021 season ended strong with convincing victories over Wake Forest and South Carolina, as well as a bowl victory against Iowa State. There is a lot of optimism in Tiger Nation that Clemson can improve upon it’s 10-3 mark in 2021 and challenge for the ACC Championship and a spot in the College Football Playoff.

To do that, the Tigers will need to see progress in multiple units this fall. They will also need the new coordinators and position coaches to acclimate quickly. The interviews from Coach Swinney and his staff in the past two weeks have been mostly positive regarding summer conditioning and injury updates, so it will be telling to hear what the insiders say about what they are seeing and hearing as fall camp gets underway this year.
