Clemson football: The most important games for Clemson in 2022 (That Clemson doesn’t play in)
By John Chancey
LSU vs Florida State
When: Sunday, September 4, 2022
Where: Caesars Superdome, New Orleans, LA
Why: LSU has struggled on the field since their national championship victory against Clemson at the end of the 2019 season, but they are still considered a major program. They still put lots of players in the NFL and they have always been a major player in the recruiting game.
Now Brian Kelly has moved his family from South Bend to Baton Rouge in hopes that he can get over the hump with the Bayou Bengals. Personally, if Les Miles and Ed Orgeron can win titles with LSU, I think Brian Kelly can as well. There will be a lot of eyes on LSU when they take the field.
That doesn’t mean they will be hitting on all cylinders right out of the gate. If LSU is still trying to figure out how to operate with the new staff’s system, and the Seminoles have finally started to hit their stride with Coach Mike Norvell, this could be a very interesting game. I don’t think I would favor Florida State, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they look better than we have seen the last two seasons.
Good showings by the Seminoles against respected programs would reflect positively on Clemson if the Tigers can win the ACC championship.
