Another former Clemson baseball player is headed to the Texas Rangers.

Former Clemson right fielder Steven Duggar was traded from the San Francisco Giants to the Texas Rangers Thursday.

Duggar had been on the injured list, but that time expired on Thursday and the Giants found the former Tiger expendable.

"Duggar will head to Texas as part of the outfielder-for-outfielder swap. A prototypical glove-first outfielder, Duggar has been on the injured list since April 21, when he suffered a left oblique injury against the Mets. His rehab assignment ended on Thursday. In 107 games last year, Duggar hit .257 with eight home runs and 35 RBIs while tallying a 0.6 dWAR in the field. He was batting .194 with four RBIs in 12 games this year, and he ranks in the 64th percentile in sprint speed."

If he stays with the big league club, Duggar will be the third Clemson Tiger on the Rangers roster, along with Brad Miller and Eli White, with White being on the injured list.

Until the trade Steven Duggar had played his entire career in the San Francisco Giants organization.

Until this trade, Duggar had spent his entire career with the Giants after being selected in the sixth round (186th overall) of the 2015 MLB Draft and making his MLB debut three years later on July 8, 2018.

Duggar played at Clemson from 2013-2015, playing in 184 games, batting .299 with 8 home runs and 108 RBI, while being successful on 50 of 65 steal attempts.

After working his way through the Giants minor league system, Duggar made his Major League debut on July 8, 2018 and finished his rookie season slashing .252/.303/.390 with 2 home runs, 17 RBI and 5 stolen bases (6 attempts) in 152 plate appearances.

Calhoun was a once highly touted prospect that has never lived up to his potential with the Rangers after being traded to the team by the Los Angeles Dodgers on July 31, 2017.
