Five potential replacements for Clemson football if Tony Elliott left for TCU

2. Willy Korn (Coastal Carolina offensive coordinator)

This first ‘outside-the-program’ name isn’t technically an ‘outside-the-program’ name, but it’s still one that Clemson football fans need to have their eyes on.

Willy Korn, the former QB at Clemson, has taken over as the co-offensive coordinator at Coastal Carolina and is doing an excellent job. While many point to Jamey Chadwell as the mastermind of the Chanticleers’ success– and there’s no doubt he’s the one leading the charge– all reports indicate that Korn is the one who is calling the plays.

Korn has been a part of a Coastal Carolina offense that is leading the nation in yards per play (8.45) and they are ranked No. 6 in the nation in total offense.

While many Tiger fans would be against Dabo Swinney bringing in another former Clemson football player, Korn has been a fast-riser in coaching circles and there’s no doubt that he’s inching closer and closer to having some prominent job offers, probably as soon as this offseason.

Could a return to Clemson be that next gig?
