The Clemson Tigers will travel up to Heinz Field this Saturday to take on the No. 23rd-ranked Pittsburgh Panthers in a game that has major implications for both teams in terms of the ACC Standings.

Clemson currently sits at 3-1 in the ACC and a game behind both NC State and Wake Forest. A loss for the Tigers would almost eliminate them from contention of winning the Atlantic Division, but a win would at least keep them within striking distance, still needing some help due to that loss to the Wolfpack earlier in the season.

Pittsburgh, on the other hand, holds a 2-0 record in the ACC. Though they still have six games left in conference play, the Panthers currently hold a two-game lead over Virginia (3-2 in conference) and Georgia Tech (2-2), and a three-game lead over North Carolina (3-3).

Clemson vs. Pittsburgh Odds Week 8

The Week 8 betting odds on WynnBET have the Tigers listed as a 3-point underdog on the road against Pitt. This is the first time that Clemson has been a betting underdog in a regular season matchup since 2014 when they traveled to Florida State.

The over/under for this game is set at 47.5 points.

Clemson vs. Pittsburgh Prediction Week 8

It would be nice to think that the Tigers suddenly find a way to run a competent offense, but the truth of the matter is that the offense seems to be what it is at this point in the season.

It’s going to be extremely difficult for Clemson to grind out a win against a Pittsburgh team that statistically has one of the best offenses in the country and the Panthers have an experienced veteran at QB in Kenny Pickett, who has seen the Tiger defense before.

Pittsburgh will be able to score some points and the only question will be if the Tiger offense can somehow keep up. The good news? The Panthers have one of the worse defenses that Clemson will have faced this season.

Still, we wouldn’t expect a full-on turnaround.

This game feels like another ugly, grind-it-out affair, but the experience of the Pitt offense combined with them having homefield advantage will ultimately be enough for them to win and cover the spread.

This feels like a Pittsburgh 24, Clemson 17 type final.

We hope we’re wrong and the Tigers come out on top and maybe be an underdog will finally be enough to get this team to put it all together, but right now there’s just nothing there to make us think that’s going to be the case.
