The wait is finally over for Clemson football fans.

It has been eight long months see we’ve seen the Tigers take the field on a competitive stage, but that all comes to an end tonight when Clemson takes on the Georgia Bulldogs in a pivotal season-opening matchup in Bank of America Stadium.

It’s the most anticipated season-opener that we’ve seen in quite some time in the world of College Football and easily the most-hyped opener for either program since 2013 and 2014 when they faced each other in a home-and-home series.

Clemson Injury Report vs. Georgia Week 1

At the time of this writing, Dabo Swinney has not released the availability chart for the Tigers and the expectation is that he’ll do so at some point this afternoon. In his press conference earlier this week, Swinney said that the Tigers were in good shape injury-wise.

There was a rumor that seemingly started on UGA message boards that Justyn Ross had injured his foot, but Ross traveled with the team and was practicing this week so it doesn’t seem there’s any truth to that.

Tyler Davis Protocol Update

The big name who may be out of this one is DT Tyler Davis and that doesn’t have anything to do with injuries. Davis is rumored to have tested positive for COVID-19, but there is a thought out there that if he was asymptomatic that he could potentially ‘test out’ of quarantine with consecutive negative tests.

At this point, though, it’s our expectation that Davis will not be available for this one due to protocol and that means Ruke Orhorhoro and Tre Williams will be called upon to step up in his absence. We will give updates if we hear anything otherwise.

Clemson vs. Georgia Odds and Betting Pick Week 1

WynnBET’s Week 1 NCAA odds have Clemson favored by 3 points heading into this neutral-site matchup. The Tigers and Bulldogs are very similar in terms of talent and both squads have some of the same question marks, as well.

That being said, we’re going to go with the proven coaching staff in Dabo Swinney, Brent Venables and Company. No offense to Kirby Smart, but the Bulldogs do have a history of finding ways to lose games like this and with Clemson having a full offseason to prepare and hear about how bad they are– following that loss to Ohio State back in January– we think the Tigers will have some extra motivation heading into this one.
