Clemson football is going to fully unleash the beast known as Trenton Simpson on the world of college football this fall and opposing offenses should be very very worried.

Trenton Simpson was a kid that wanted a Clemson football offer and when he finally got one just before National Signing Day in 2020, he almost immediately decommitted from Auburn and pledged his loyalty to the Tigers.

He helped soothe the wound left when fellow 5-star linebacker Justin Flowe committed to Oregon. Clemson clearly got the better end of this deal.

Clemson football has never seen a linebacker like Trenton Simpson before

That statement may seem bold, but I am also certain it is correct. Given the lineage of linebackers that Clemson has had over the last 60 years, that is high praise. Simpson is currently checking in at 236 pounds – that is six more pounds than what All-American defensive end Vic Beasley played at during his time at Clemson.

During the NFL combine, former Clemson football unanimous All-American Isaiah Simmons checked in at 238 pounds, which was almost 15 pounds more than he played at while in the orange and purple.

Not only is Simpson is big, strong, and highly intelligent, but he is also blazing fast.

Simpson recently raced 190-pound defensive back Malcolm Green in a 40-yard dash and BEAT him – who has been clocked between a 4.42 and 4.45 in the 40.

Simpson had the video posted on his Instagram account, but he has since removed it.

We all saw at various points last season how good Simpson could be. Linebackers coach Brent Venables is notorious for not putting young linebackers on the field, yet by game six of the 2020 Clemson football season, Trenton Simpson was starting.

He ended up in the top five of nearly every Clemson football defensive statistic and was so good that older linebackers sought other programs for more playing time.

Simpson has the talent to be all-world and college football is going to see exactly what they missed out on and what the next generation of linebackers bring to the table.

A couple Tigers still remain unsigned by NFL teams. dark. Next
