Dabo Swinney has been and always will be a competitor and we can see that through his endeavors with the Clemson football program and outside of it, as well.

Last weekend, Dabo Swinney and the Tigers hosted their inaugural Elite Retreat.

The retreat featured a dozen highly-touted prospects (including the four Clemson commits) who were able to take a tour of campus, listen to an in-depth presentation about Clemson football, get to know the coaching staff and they even went back to Swinney’s house for a portion of the visit.

A video of Dabo Swinney dropping a three on a recruit has gone viral

Swinney took the prospects to his in-home gymnasium and to no surprise, he showed a little talent on the basketball court. In the video, Swinney drops a corner-three while wearing a polo.

We’ve heard and seen many times where Swinney has performed well in pickup games in the past and even former Clemson basketball star Aamir Simms vouched for that on Twitter.

Simms- a College Basketball player who was named to the All-ACC team- says that Swinney has beaten him three different times in his gym.

For those who are wondering about Dabo Swinney’s ball skills, he is a knockdown shooter and has good handles, as well.

It shouldn’t be surprising, though, for us to see Swinney winning pickup games of basketball. All he knows how to do is win.

Perhaps the most impressive portion of this video- and any time that we hear about Swinney’s victories in competitions off the field- is his competitiveness. Just like with how he runs the Clemson football program, Swinney gives his absolute best in everything he does. He’s a fiery competitor and doesn’t like to lose.

That kind of winning nature, combined with his personality and character, is exactly why recruits have been flocking to Clemson over the past decade and why Tigers continue to stay on top of the College Football world.
