The Clemson football team is set to return nearly everyone from last year on the defensive side of the ball and there is reason to believe the Tigers could have one of the most dominant units in the nation this season.

One of the names that Clemson football fans are extremely excited to see? Sophomore DT Bryan Bresee.

Bresee, the former No. 1 overall player in the nation two recruiting cycles ago, showed up in a big way as a freshman and earned a starting spot from the onset. He finished that freshman campaign with 23 total tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss and four sacks.

Now, as we head into Year 2, there are major expectations that he’ll take the next step forward.

Pro Football Focus released its top five returning interior defenders in College Football for the 2021 season and Bresee was ranked No. 5.

Anyone who has seen Bresee play knows that his potential is through-the-roof.

He is the first defensive lineman to come through the world of College Football in a long time who can legitimately beat offensive linemen with his strength and power on the inside or move outside and use his agility to get in the backfield and create havoc. Bresee has been compared to J.J. Watt by many analysts because of that versatility.

As we head into 2021, Clemson football fans are expecting him to take the next step forward in a big way. Tiger fans believe that Bresee has All-American potential as a sophomore and, honestly, there doesn’t seem to be anything stopping him from attaining that status.

PFF has him as one of the top returning defensive linemen in the nation and we certainly can’t argue that claim.
