The Clemson football program will have to pick up its recruiting pace this summer as the Tigers look to get back in the game after a less-than-stellar outcome thus far.

As we head into the summer, Clemson has just four commitments- all from 4-stars- and no commitments on the defensive side of the ball.

The good news? Clemson football will be able to host visitors for the first time in more than a year beginning in June. There’s something special about the area and recruits getting to see that up-close and personal is going to be a great advantage for the Tigers yet again.

Here’s a look at the top five prospects for Clemson football heading into the summer.

5. TE Jaleel Skinner (4-star)

Things have begun to grow complacent with 4-star in-state TE Jaleel Skinner and the Tigers have to get back in the thick of the conversation.

You never want to see a top prospect in your state leave, but things are leaning more Florida right now than anything as we progress through Skinner’s recruitment.

Skinner has visited before, but the Tigers getting him back on campus is huge for them covering ground with the Gators and reminding him of what he could be a part of if he chose to stay in-state.

Florida has a great pitch with the development of tight ends, but Clemson is not out of it by any means.
