The Clemson football program has continued to excel at a high level under the leadership of Dabo Swinney and, as a result, the Tigers have seen growth in terms of their NFL status.

Each year, we see more and more Clemson football players being selected in the NFL Draft and going on to have successful professional careers.

Just a little more than a decade ago, no one would’ve thought we’d have multitudes of Tigers in the league at one time but that’s exactly where we’re at as we inch closer to Training Camp for the 2021 season.

Just eight NFL teams don’t have at least one former Clemson football player on their roster

Do you remember the days where there might’ve been eight- or less- total Tigers in the league at the same time? Now, it seems like every time you turn on the television on Sundays you’re seeing a former Clemson player in some capacity.

As we head into training camp, there are currently 24 teams who have at least one Tiger on their roster. But who are the eight franchises that don’t currently have a Clemson football player? Here’s a look:

  • Buffalo Bills
  • Carolina Panthers
  • Cleveland Browns
  • Indianapolis Colts
  • New England Patriots
  • New York Jets
  • Seattle Seahawks
  • Tennessee Titans

The most shocking of that list- if you haven’t paid attention- is the Carolina Panthers. Clemson consistently dominates inside the Panthers’ stadium- at a much better rate than Carolina, mind you- but the Panthers have never drafted a Tiger in their history. It’s crazy that’s the case when you think about the geography of the franchise related to Clemson.

Of the 24 NFL teams who have Tigers on their roster, there are 10 who have multiple Clemson football players:

  • Las Vegas Raiders (5)
  • Atlanta Falcons (3)
  • Cincinnati Bengals (3)
  • Dallas Cowboys (3)
  • Jacksonville Jaguars (3)
  • Arizona Cardinals (2)
  • Baltimore Ravens (2)
  • Houston Texans (2)
  • Kansas City Chiefs (2)
  • San Francisco 49ers (2)

There are still some signings and cuts that will happen, as well as potential trades (we’re looking at Houston) in the coming weeks and months, but this is the look of the roster breakdown as we exit the NFL Draft and begin preparing for the preseason.
