The Clemson football recruiting class hasn’t quite come together for the 2022 cycle as of yet, but one thing is for sure: The Tigers got an absolute gem for their quarterback commit.

Clemson currently has just four commitments in the 2022 recruiting cycle, but there’s still plenty more time left for the class to get back on track and end up with a steady influx of talent before it’s all said and done.

That being said, 4-star QB Cade Klubnik– who  patiently waited for an offer from Clemson football- has consistently shown himself to be a big-time player in this class.

The Clemson football commit is rocketing up recruiting rankings

Following a solid performance at the Elite 11 Dallas Regional, Klubnik moved up the 247 Sports’ rankings.

Klubnik is now considered the No. 69 overall player in the nation in the 247 Sports’ Composite Player Rankings and he is the No. 64 overall player in the Top247 rankings. He is considered the No. 4 pro-style quarterback in the nation in both rankings.

Here’s a look at Klubnik’s previous rankings and the proof of an undoubted upwards trend in his rankings as we head into the summer (these are 247 Sports composite rankings, which take into account several rankings from many different networks and publications):

  • 209 (June 2020)
  • 251 (August 2020)
  • 251 (September 2020)
  • 258 (October 2020)
  • 223 (November 2020)
  • 155 (December 2020)
  • 74 (February 2021)
  • 76 (April 2021)
  • 69 (April 2021)

For the  majority of the fall in 2020, Klubnik wasn’t inside the top 200 players in the nation. After his film started to come in, though, he shot up rankings and went from No. 223 in the nation in November to No. 155 in the nation by December of 2020.

The upward trend only continued from there.

In February, he shot up to No. 74 in the nation and then, after dropping just a couple of spots earlier this month, he shot up inside the top-70 rated as the No. 69 player in the nation.

Anyone that has watched Klubnik compete knows that he has the ability to be a major factor at Clemson before it’s all said and done, and he has no doubt earned this newly-gained respect by recruiting services over the past few months.
