Recent 4-star Clemson football offer has Tigers in his top schools
A 4-star safety who was just recently given an offer from Clemson football has listed in his top schools as his recruitment takes the next step.
4-star safety Sherrod Covil Jr., a native of Chesapeake, VA, has released a list of his top 11 schools. Covil Jr. was offered by Clemson football on Thursday.

Along with the Tigers, Covil Jr. has Penn State, Alabama, Michigan, Notre Dame, USC, Virginia Tech, Virginia, Maryland, Oregon and Auburn listed as his finalists.
Clemson football lost a battle with UGA for a top safety prospect, but Covil Jr. could be an excellent pickup
The Tigers were looking to pick up 5-star S Malaki Starks, but he committed to Georgia in what wasn’t a surprise by any means.
Covil Jr. is rated as the No. 189 overall player in the nation, the No. 14 safety in the country and the No. 6 player in the state of Virginia.
At this point, Virginia Tech is considered the slight leader but things are just starting to heat up in his recruitment.
Covil Jr. shows great athleticism on film and is a guy who will be able to man the backend of a college defense. Covil Jr. is actually used a little bit lining up as a linebacker because of his special blend of speed and physicality.
In addition to Covil Jr., Clemson is in the recruitments for 4-star Jacoby Mathews, 4-star Zion Branch and the Tigers are looking at a couple of other potential offers in the near future. As we get into the summer and visits are allowed to continue, it will give the Tigers a better look at their prospects.
