2. He has enough hype, but isn’t being overblown

Do you want to know the thing that probably hurt Trevor Lawrence the most this past season in terms of his Heisman hopes? The hype he received ahead of time.

Lawrence was already being crowned as the Heisman Trophy winner by many before the season ever began and while it’s important for analysts and fans to know who you are, there does come a point where ‘overhype’ can become an issue.

When Lawrence didn’t put up the stats that many thought he should have, they turned to other options like Mac Jones and DeVonta Smith- the eventual winner.

As we enter the 2021 season, there are enough people who know who Uiagalelei is for him to be considered in the running for the award, but there aren’t going to be overblown expectations from him nationally that lead to people believing he is having a disappointing season, even if he isn’t.
