Clemson football fan base ranked most-engaged in the country
The Clemson football program has been built in a way that we never could’ve foreseen just a decade ago.
The Tigers are now one of the top programs in the country and the ‘power of the paw’ is at an all-time high. Clemson remains on the forefront of all kinds of developments and the one thing we’ve learned through this time is that Tiger fans are among the greatest in the country.
Wallet Hub recently published a Best & Worst Cities for football fans rankings system that took into account several metrics, including fan engagement, season ticket prices, success, stadium capacity, number of coaches in the last 10 years, and much more to determine where both colleges and NFL teams ranked.
Clemson football fans were ranked as the most-engaged fans in the country, tied with just Penn State. After Clemson and State College, Tuscaloosa (Alabama), Ann Arbor (Michigan) and Morgantown (West Virginia) rounded out the top-five.
Clemson football fans are a special bunch, no doubt
In the rankings by city size, Clemson was the second-highest ‘small city’ behind just Tuscaloosa. The city of Clemson was ranked No. 31 in the nation for best overall football cities for fans. That was ahead of notable cities like Jacksonville, State College, Baton Rouge, Tallahassee and Athens.
Something even more interesting about that? Greenville, SC was ranked No. 59 and Spartanburg was ranked No. 78. Those were both ahead of Columbia, SC- which comes in at No. 239 overall.
If you are surprised by areas with highly-populated Clemson football fans doing well, you just haven’t paid close enough attention.
The Greenville-Anderson-Spartanburg broadcast market consistently ranks inside the top-five of College Football television markets year-in and year-out and there’s no doubt that the Tiger fan base is even continuing to grow today.
