Clemson football: It’s going to be a long 2021 offseason
It’s going to be a long offseason for Clemson football fans
The 2002 Clemson football season has come to an end and we’re about to enter a period of time known as the ‘offseason.’ It’s going to be a long one, at that.
With the College Football season officially over, we will have to wait nearly eight months before we see the Tigers take the field in a competitive matchup again.
Of course, the spring game is expected to happen this year- which is always something- but the real action for Clemson football fans won’t take place until Saturday, Sep. 4 when the Tigers travel up to Charlotte to take on the Georgia Bulldogs in what is expected to be a season-opening matchup of top-five opponents.
Getting to that point won’t be easy, though.
Before we see Clemson football play again, there are going to be a lot of things to enjoy, as well as endure
Here’s a look at just some of the sports things that will happen (and many we believe will) between now and when the Tigers play again:
- We’ll have spring practice and the spring game
- The NCAA Tournament will be concluded
- An entire College Baseball & Softball season will happen
- Trevor Lawrence, Travis Etienne and others will be drafted in the spring
- The All-In Cookout will hopefully be able to happen
- We’ll probably get numerous hot takes from national analysts talking about how Clemson is finished (expect these in the spring & summer)
- There will likely be a couple more transfers (especially right after spring practice concludes)
- The signees who aren’t on campus now will finish their high school careers, graduate and move in during the summer
- The NBA season will conclude and the MLB season will be well underway
The point is that there is a lot of time between now and when we see the Tigers play next.
Clemson football fans should expect rumors, bad hot takes and unbearable discussion at times, but it will all be worth it when we see the Tigers take the field again.
Until then, our advice is simple: Enjoy the ride, take it all in and rest easy knowing that Dabo Swinney will have this group back prepared to go to battle when the time is right.
