Nothing’s stopping Clemson basketball from winning the ACC

This Clemson basketball team is the most talented and deepest group to ever play in Brad Brownell’s tenure and the sky is the limit for their success as we move forward with the 2020 season.

It hasn’t been very often that we move into January and Clemson basketball fans are still optimistic about the direction a season is headed.

After all, the Tigers have made the NCAA Tournament just three times in the last decade (2010, 2011 & 2018) and they’ve been squarely out not too long after this point in the year many times in the past. But that’s not the case this time around.

Anyone who has watched this Clemson basketball team plays knows they’re a legitimate threat moving forward

Aamir Simms, Nick Honor, Al-Amir Dawes, Clyde Trapp, Jonathan Baehre, PJ Hall, Alex Hemenway, John Newman III, Chase Hunter and Olivier-Maxence Prosper. All of these guys have played at least 100 minutes or more this season.

This is a team that can go 11-deep with ease and have confidence in any five it puts on the floor.

It’s not only the depth that this Clemson team possesses, but the way that they play. You’ve got seven players who are averaging more than five points per game. In all, the Tigers are averaging nearly 70 points per game (68.3 PPG)- an much-needed improvement from offenses in the past- and they can attack in different ways.

This team has length to get the job done inside, but the added guard play from Honor and Dawes, especially, has made them a legitimate force to be reckoned with.

At this point, the Tigers are the only team in the NCAA with more than six Quad 1 & Quad 2 wins. They’re 9-1 overall on the season and 3-1 in ACC play.

Who knows how this ends, but this is fun team to watch and they’ve proven that they’re never out of any game. They’re a dangerous bunch moving forward and nothing is stopping them from being a legitimate threat in the ACC this season.
