Clemson football looking to continue winning streak over Ohio State Buckeyes

The Clemson football team will take on the No. 3-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes in the Allstate Sugar Bowl this evening as part of the CFB Playoff semifinals.

The Tigers are looking to improve to 5-0 all-time against Ohio State while the Buckeyes have been motivated for a rematch against Clemson since they lost back in December of 2019 in the Playstation Fiesta Bowl.

Though Clemson football is considered a slight favorite, the Tigers will be without their Offensive Coordinator in Tony Elliott due to a positive test and Ohio State will be looking to potentially take advantage in any way they see possible.

Final Score Prediction & Analysis for Clemson football against Ohio State

Ohio State is a tale of two teams if you’re looking at the film.

The Buckeyes have a dangerous offense that has the potential to be elite and they’ve got an average, perhaps even subpar, defense. OSU ranks No. 104 in the nation against the pass and we all know that if Brandon Streeter is given the reins on play-calling duties that he’ll be dialing up some passes and trying to attack that secondary.

Defensively, though, the Tigers are going to have to find a way to get pressure in the backfield and make Justin Fields uncomfortable. Fields can be a master at running that RPO- just like Trevor Lawrence– and I believe we could be in for a high-scoring affair before it’s all said and done.

Not having Elliott combined with that dangerous Ohio State offensive attack worries me, but in the end, it’s the Tigers who leave New Orleans as victors.

Final Score Prediction: Clemson 38, Ohio State 31
