Trevor Lawrence puts his name back in the Heisman hat vs. FSU
Trevor Lawrence has been all but forgotten in the race for the Heisman Trophy following a three-week span without him being on the field.
The last time we saw Trevor Lawrence in actual game action, he had a few struggles on the way to a 289-yard passing game that finished with two touchdowns and one interception against the Syracuse Orange. That was October 24th, nearly a month ago.
Lawrence tested positive later that week and was held out for two games and then Clemson had a bye week. As a result, his name had been completely left for dead in the 2020 Heisman Trophy race as candidates such as Justin Fields and Kyle Trask emerged.
As we prepare for the Florida State game this weekend, we’ve got some ‘last minute predictions’ for you and the first is that Trevor Lawrence will put his name back in the Heisman hat.
It may just be Florida State and he may be overshadowed in some areas because of the games he missed, but make no mistake about it- Lawrence is still a big-time name and his return is going to be one of the biggest storylines of the weekend.
Look for many to turn their attention back to him as a legitimate Heisman contenders following a three week hiatus from action.
