Could Clemson football be set to change offensive line rotation?

We could potentially see some changes coming to the way the Clemson football offensive line rotates down the stretch of the 2020 season.

The Tigers have had their fair share of troubles getting anything going in the running game due to the offensive line’s inability to get a consistent push and that’s something we should expect the coaching staff to address heavily over the course of the next week.

One interesting scenario may involve changing the rotation, at least a little bit.

Tigernet.com posted on Twitter during Dabo Swinney‘s press conference about the fact that Walker Parks won the 12th man award on Saturday and that we may very well see more of Parks as we head down the stretch of the 2020 Clemson football season.

How Clemson football could use Walker Parks to its advantage

Parks has been one of the better-performing offensive linemen when he’s been on the field this season, though we should say that’s been sparingly. Even when the second-team offensive line struggled, he was a bright spot.

When looking at that Clemson football offensive line, the biggest issues have been in the interior of the group. Bockhorst, Putnam and Stewart simply haven’t been able to get the job done and far too many times one or a couple of them have been out of position and seemingly none of them are getting much of a push on rushing plays.

There has also been times when Carman has been beaten by his man in pass-rushing situations.

What if the Tigers elected to bring Jackson Carman– who weighs in at 335 pounds- to play inside at the left guard spot. That would open up the door for Parks to come in and play either tackle spot alongside Jordan McFadden. Both Putnam and Stewart can play the center spot, so you’d be able to have a rotation and the best guard- between the three- would win out and the best center- between the two- would also win out.

It’s also not out of the question that we see Mason Trotter or Paul Tchio gain a few more snaps over the course of the season, but it’s not likely that they’ll factor into the starting depth chart.

Next. Uiagalelei could be an all-time great. dark

The Tigers have to do something to get that offensive line moving up-front and it’s simply not happening with the current group.
