Trevor Lawrence is tired of being pestered about leaving or staying

Though Trevor Lawrence has been completely clear about his intentions following this season, some media members can’t seem to leave it alone.

Lawrence set the world on fire just a couple of weeks ago when he told media members that he would still consider coming back to school following the 2020 season and that he was just going to worry about that after everything else plays out on the field.

Despite making his intentions clear that he just wants to focus on this season and doing the best he can to lead this Clemson football team to a championship, some media members are still asking him questions about it.

Trevor Lawrence met with the media virtually on Monday following the news that he had been cleared to return to practice and compete. Lawrence was asked by a reporter if he wanted to expound upon his comments from earlier about his option to stay or leave following this year.

"“My mindset is the same,” Lawrence said via Tigernet. “I really don’t want to talk about it anymore, honestly. I’m just trying to enjoy it. People want me to say no matter what, I’m leaving school, but that’s not something I’m going to do. I don’t want to corner myself either way.”"

Trevor Lawrence is focused on this season and he’s grown tired of being asked about his future

Media members have talked forever about how Trevor Lawrence is going to be the No. 1 pick in next year’s NFL Draft and he has been linked to the New York Jets, who seem almost destined to come away with that pick.

Still, Lawrence’s comments today shed some light on how he’s feeling in terms of having to answer the same questions over and over again: He’s tired of it.

Lawrence doesn’t want to talk about his NFL future right now. He’s tired of having to answer the same question about him leaving after this season.

We all know that he’s leaving, but he’s not going to back himself into a corner and he shouldn’t be made to, either. It’s a decision that only Trevor Lawrence can make and one that he should make on his own time in the way that he wants to.

If he miraculously does choose to stay, then that was the right decision. If he decides to leave as we all think he will, then that was the right decision. Why? Because it’s his decision.

But it’s clear that he doesn’t want to talk about it publicly right now and it seems he’s getting a little pestered by those who continue to ask.

On a funny note, Lawrence was asked about his ‘go-to’ when he goes out in public and doesn’t want to draw attention to himself. He said he normally wears a hoodie, but then people look and say ‘hey look at that tall guy wearing a hoodie.’

Never change, Trevor.
