Coming into 2020, there were several Clemson football players that were going to have to fill big roles.

Clemson football is currently sitting at 6-0 and ranked number one in both the Coaches and AP Top 25. To say that the Tigers have not been impressive would be a complete lie. However, to say the Tigers could not be better would also not be true.

There was a lot of pressure on this year’s version of the Tigers as they look to make their fifth national title game in six seasons. When you bring back the nation’s best quarterback and running back, as well as the best defensive coordinator, the expectations are going to be extremely high.

Clemson football has not disappointed.

The Tigers offense has scored 289 points through their first six games, which is an average of 48.2 points per game, which is nearly a six-point improvement from the 2019 team that averaged 42.9 points per game.

That said, there were three players that had to step up in 2020 in order to pick up the slack if Clemson football was going to be successful. Those three players have certainly stepped up in their new roles for 2020 and the Tigers’ success is proof of that.

Those three players – Amari Rodgers, Mike Jones Jr.and Matt Bockhorst.

After six games, we have a pretty good idea of where each player stands and the impact that they are making on the field and in the locker room.
