Three milestones that Clemson football will reach against the Syracuse Orange

The Clemson football team will take the field Saturday afternoon in a game that many have already written in as a win for the Tigers.

Clemson is favored by a massive 46 points and the Tigers have been rolling as of late, coming off an impressive 73-7 win over the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.

As we continue to prepare for the Clemson football game today, here are three milestones we will see the Tigers surpass against the Syracuse Orange.

3. D.J. Uiagalelei throws his first career touchdown pass

D.J. Uiagalelei rushed for two touchdowns in the win over The Citadel a few weeks ago, but we still have yet to see the freshman throw a touchdown pass.

On the season, Uiagalelei has completed 11-of-16 passing attempts for 91 yards and has also rushed for 32 yards.

Saturday we will see the freshman throw his first touchdown pass. Uiagalelei was held out of last week’s game against Georgia Tech due to injury in which he would’ve likely thrown a touchdown, but that won’t be the case this week. He may even throw his first touchdown pass in the first half.

2. Travis Etienne becomes Clemson’s all-time scoring leader

Travis Etienne has set all kinds of career records for the Clemson football program and beyond, and they’re just going to continue to be racked up over the course of this season.

The next milestone? He’ll become the all-time leading scorer in Clemson football history.

Etienne is currently second on the list just behind kicker Chandler Catanzaro. Catanzaro (2010-13) scored a total of 404 career points. Etienne trails him by just three points with 401.

Etienne became just the seventh player in ACC history to have at least 400 points in his career- and the first non-kicker- with his touchdown last week against Georgia Tech and now he’ll break the all-time scoring record for Clemson football this week with a touchdown.

1. Clemson will cover the biggest spread in ACC football history

As we noted earlier, Clemson enters this game as a massive 46 points. Did you know that’s an ACC football record for a Vegas spread?

No ACC team has ever been favored by more than 45 points over another in-conference opponent, but yet here we are.

Not only will Clemson enter this game as the massive favorite, but the Tigers will walk out covering that historical spread and prove to the nation just how elite they’ve become.

Clemson and Syracuse kickoff at 12 p.m. E.T. on the ACC Network.
