Clemson football has come to define what consistency means.

Clemson football fans have enjoyed unparalleled consistency from their football team of which few fan bases have ever experienced. Seemingly long gone are the days when the Tigers beat Miami one Saturday and then proceed to lose at Duke the next.

This week is an important game for the maturation of the 2020 team. They handled last week beautifully, they did not get caught up in the drama being stirred by the Hurricanes and let their play do the talking.

In evaluating the true health of a program or if you want to see where a coaching staff is really at in their journey, look for how a team plays after they have great success or failure.

Clemson football has won 33 straight regular-season games.

There have not been many losses around Clemson football in recent years but when they have occurred they have responded well the following week. The same can be said following big wins. There is a slight pause when you think about the youth of this team and how they will respond to a marquee win as they face a hard-charging Georgia Tech team Saturday at noon.

It will be fascinating to see how this team responds after its first big test of the year. Once again the Tigers will take the Yellow Jackets best shot on Saturday. Georgia Tech is coming off an emphatic win over Louisville last Friday. They will certainly put forward a great effort.

I am not here putting Clemson on upset alert by any means but it is important to see how this team performs on the road against a team that will compete for 60 minutes. Geoff Collins is doing a nice job in Atlanta.

He has created positive energy within the recruiting base and the fans that have been lacking for a long time. They are taking their lumps at times with a young quarterback but he has made his fair share of plays up to this point.

Ultimately it is the expectation within the program that the Tigers will play well Saturday and take care of business in an emphatic fashion.
