Five reasons Clemson football will dominate the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets Saturday.

Clemson football will get to play just one of their three longest rivalry games in 2020 and it just so happens to be this one Saturday afternoon in Atlanta.

The Tigers and Yellow Jackets first squared off against each other in November of 1898 and have played every year since 1983. This was a rivalry dominated by Georgia Tech throughout most of the 20th century.

However, Clemson has won five in a row and 12 of the last 20 meetings.

From 1996-2009 most of the games were decided by less than seven-point. These two programs had some classic battles on the field on the recruiting trail. However, since Clemson football head coach Dabo Swinney was hired in 2008, Georgia Tech has not experienced a lot of success against the Tigers.

Tech is hoping that second-year head coach Geoff Collins can turn things around in Atlanta. While the records may not indicate their talent, he is doing a great job in Atlanta – but that doesn’t mean they are ready for what will happen on Saturday.
