Trevor Lawrence could do something no one has been able to do

There’s plenty of drama and speculation surrounding where Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence will end up following his final season with the Tigers, but we have an idea.

Each week during the NFL season, Trevor Lawrence is trending on Twitter as teams seemingly fall backwards over the potential to tank for the talented quarterback, who is sure to go No. 1 overall in next year’s NFL Draft.

If the season ended today, though, it would be a team that is fairly close to the Clemson football program- as in just 122.4 miles away- in the Atlanta Falcons.

The Falcons are one of just six teams in the NFL who are currently 0-3 and things haven’t looked great in terms of production in the ATL to this point in the season.

While the Falcons have a long-standing quarterback in Matt Ryan who has put up a ton of stats and done a lot of good things, Trevor Lawrence could do something that Matty Ice simply hasn’t been able to do.

Trevor Lawrence could bring a Super Bowl to the championship-starved ATL

During his press conference this past week, Lawrence said that he didn’t watch much NFL when he was growing up, but that he considered himself a Falcons fan because his friend pulled for Atlanta.

What if Lawrence was able to stay extremely close to Clemson and get drafted by Atlanta?

Even with Ryan on the roster, I simply don’t see the Falcons passing up on the opportunity to take Trevor Lawrence with No. 1 overall pick- if they ended up with it in the end.

The cupboard certainly isn’t bare in Atlanta and Lawrence’s winning pedigree would be something that could show almost an immediate return for a franchise that has been starved with underachieving for as long as we can remember.

While it’s still not likely to happen because I don’t think we see the Falcons end up with the No. 1 overall pick, it would be a fun sight to see Lawrence playing just down the road in Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
