The Clemson football team is heavily-favored at home against Virginia

There’s really no question that Virginia will be the best team that Clemson football has played to this point in the season, but that’s not mattering at all in the eyes of the Vegas oddsmakers.

The Clemson football team, which comes into the matchup with a 2-0 record and a 23-game winning streak at home, is currently favored by 29 points over the Virginia Cavaliers.

Virginia played its first game of the season last week, earning a 38-20 win over the Duke Blue Devils.

It’s pretty easy to see why Vegas is showing mad respect to Clemson football

The last time we saw the Tigers and Cavaliers on the same field, Clemson was absolutely dismantling Virginia on its way to a 62-17 win in the ACC Championship last December.

While both teams have certainly changed some- a UVA has lost its top playmaker from last season in Bryce Perkins– some things simply just stay the same.

Clemson is listed as a heavy favorite in this one because the Tigers just have too much talent. There’s depth all over the field and they continue to reload year-in and year-out. Trevor Lawrence is playing on another level right now and there’s no reason that Clemson shouldn’t roll in this one when it’s all said and done.

The biggest concern, if any, for Clemson football coming into this one is the ‘overlooking factor.’ Could the Tigers potentially be looking ahead to next week where they’ll play a top-10 opponent in Miami on national television? Anything is possible, but this team seems locked in and focused on the task at hand, which doesn’t bode well for the Cavaliers.

The game is scheduled to kickoff at 8 p.m. live on the ACC Network. This will be the first of two games in-a-row for the Tigers that will be in primetime in Death Valley.
