Top-graded Clemson football players from the first two games

The Clemson football team opened up the 2020 season with two emphatic wins that have them still sitting at No. 1 in the nation as we progress towards the first bye week of the fall.

After the open date this weekend, the Tigers will play back-to-back home games against the Virginia Cavaliers and Miami Hurricanes.

As we continue to look back at the Clemson football team through the first two games of the season and glance forward at the rest of the slate, here’s a look at some of the top-grading performers for the Tigers, according to Pro Football Focus.

Clemson football players who received praise from Pro Football Focus

Trevor Lawrence:

The first Tiger lauded by Pro Football Focus– and for good reason- was none other than Trevor Lawrence. Lawrence, who has played two clean games without an interception, graded as the top quarterback in the country this past week and continues to impress scouts with his arm ability.

He has a 95.3 grade on the season.

"I know Clemson had one of the easiest opponents a team could have had, but the man-made NFL-level throws in his small sample of action against The Citadel would make me easily accept a year of losing to ensure he’s my franchise quarterback. Lawrence attempted eight passes for the game and delivered a catchable ball on every single one. Three of those were deemed big-time throws, including this perfectly-placed laser to Frank Ladson."

Star-studded freshmen defensive linemen

Both Bryan Bresee and Myles Murphy have received high grades from the publication in their first two weeks and Bresee has been named the Freshman of the Week in each of his first two games. Bresee, according to PFF, has graded over 90 in both of his appearances and there’s no doubt that both of these guys are going to be major factors for a long time to come and well beyond the collegiate game, as well.

Jordan McFadden & Walker Parks are making big splashes

Interestingly enough, Jordan McFadden has received the second-highest grade of any offensive player for Clemson football. McFadden’s overall grade is an 89.3 and he has allowed just one QB hurry during the season.

McFadden has done an excellent job stepping in at that right tackle position and many simply don’t realize how good he’s been.

Freshman Walker Parks also received praise from PFF as he has played 57 snaps of almost perfect grades. In a season where the offensive line has been an issue on the second-team, Parks has been an extremely bright spot.

Frank Ladson Jr. gets credit

Frank Ladson Jr. was named to the PFF Offensive Team for Week 3 following his performance against The Citadel. Ladson Jr. did an excellent job creating separation and coming away with the catches.
