Clemson football is the preseason number one team in the country heading into the season.

There haven’t been a lot of people or publications that do not like Clemson football to win the ACC or get back to their third straight national title game. Hopefully, there will be a lot of football played between now and January to figure that stuff out.

As good as the Tigers are expected to be, not everyone thinks that they can get through the season unscathed. Thankfully, being undefeated isn’t a requirement to make the College Football Playoff.

Earlier this week, FanSided, released their college football preview and writer Dante Pryor believes that Notre Dame, not Clemson will be the ACC’s top team heading into the ACC Championship game. Of course, that means he believes that the Irish will knock off Clemson when the two collide on November 7th.

Should that happen and Clemson runs the table and finish 10-1, they should get another shot at Notre Dame with a spot in the College Football Playoff on the line.

Clemson football is heads and shoulders better than any other ACC program.

In case you have not heard or maybe you forgot, the ACC will not divisions in 2020. Since everyone is playing 10 ACC games, the top two teams in the standings at the conclusion of season will head to Charlotte to play in the 2020 ACC Championship game.

Notre Dame may be one of the most overrated teams in the country this year. However, name recognition, a three-year starter at quarterback and one of the nation’s best offensive lines usually means fans and media will give you more credit than you deserve.

While a lot will happen between now and November 7th, if both teams stay healthy and take care of business, I just do not see how Notre Dame stays within three touchdowns of the Tigers.

People will give Clemson football more credit for their schedule in 2020 than they have in previous years as the ACC will be better top to bottom but no one is even in the same stratosphere as the Tigers and that will become very apparent when they start clicking on all cylinders.
