Clemson football had seven players drafted by the NFL in 2020.

Three of those seven former Clemson football products have signed their rookie deals and the totals are eye-boggling.

Signing your first NFL contract is the culmination of a lifetimes worth of work and for a select few it means instant millions and hopefully a lifetime of financial stability for that young man – if they are responsible.

Over the last several days, three former Tigers, Isaiah Simmons, A.J. Terrell, and K’Von Wallace, have put ink to paper and signed their rookie contracts and the exact figures are staggering. Both Simmons and Terrell agreed to standard four-year rookie deals, with a fifth-year being optional for the team that drafted them; Cardinals and Falcons, respectively.

Simmons signed a $20.664 million deal with a signing bonus of $14.305 million while Terrell signed a $12.588 million deal that includes a $7.964 million signing bonus with his hometown Atlanta Falcons. Both deals are fully guaranteed.

K’Von Wallace, while not as fortunate as both Simmons and Terrell, did sign a nice four-year contract with the Eagles that totals just over $4 million and they gave him a signing bonus of just over $700,000.

Several former Clemson football players are still unsigned

Four other former Clemson football products are still unsigned as of now – Tee Higgins, Tanner Muse, John Simpson, and Tremayne Anchrum. Because of the rookie wage scale, their contracts are predictable and according to Spotrac will be meet the following guidelines:

  • Tee Higgins: Four years, $8,686,000 with a $3,800,000 signing bonus
  • Tanner Muse: Four years, $4,490,000 with an $832,000 signing bonus
  • John Simpson: Four years, $4,091,000 with a $796,000 signing bonus
  • Tremayne Anchrum: Four years, $3,370,000 with a $75,000 signing bonus

With NFL training camps getting ready to crank up in the next couple weeks, there is little doubt that all four of those guys will be signed, sealed, and ready to compete for a roster spot in 2020.
