Pop Culture when Dabo Swinney was named Clemson’s Head Coach

Clemson Coach Dabo Swinney took over as the leader of the program more than a decade ago and things have changed quite a bit since then.

Swinney, who had gotten back into coaching after a successful run in real-estate, was named the interim head coach following the resignation of Tommy Bowden.

That ‘interim tag’ officially came off of Dabo Swinney on December 1, 2008 as he was introduced as the Tigers’ new Head Coach.

While it doesn’t seem all that long ago that Swinney was just getting the Clemson football program off the ground, the truth is that nearly 12 years have passed since that point.

Here’s a look at some of the most prominent pop-culture back when Dabo Swinney was named Clemson’s Head Coach.

Chart-Topping Hits

  • Low (Flo Rida feat. T-Pain)
  • Bleeding Love (Leona Lewis)
  • No One (Alicia Keys)
  • Lollipop (Lil Wayne feat Static Major)
  • Apologize (Timbaland feat OneRepublic)

These were the top five songs, according to the charts, for the year end 2008.

Yes, all of these songs are 12 years old. Does that make you feel old?
