Numbers confirm what we suspected, Clemson football has dominated under head coach Dabo Swinney.

Over the last 25 years, Clemson football is the eight most winningest team in college football. Sure, the Tigers have been on a tear over the last nine seasons, but the other 16 seasons not so much.

Over the last 25 years, Clemson has accumulated 227 wins in college football. Only Ohio State, Oklahoma, UGA, LSU, Florida, Virginia Tech, and Wisconsin have more wins than Clemson football does over that time span.

The incredible part of this stat is that Dabo Swinney is responsible for 130 of those wins in just a little over 11 seasons. So that you don’t have to pull out a calculator that means that the other 13 seasons, the Tigers managed just 97 wins.

Clemson football has had nine consecutive seasons of at least 10 wins. The prior 16 seasons, the Tigers did not have a single season in which they saw double-digit wins. Prior to this run, the last time Clemson football was able to string together two or more double-digit winning seasons was 1987-1990 when they had four straight 10 win seasons.

Of those 227 wins, Swinney was responsible for 130, Tommy Bowden led the Tigers to 72 wins and Tommy West led them to 20 of them.

Clemson football success is rare even among college football”blue bloods”

Of the 18 winningest teams over the quarter-century, only Ohio State, Alabama, FSU, Clemson and USC have more than one national title while Wisconsin, UGA, TCU, Penn State, Virginia Tech and Oregon don’t even have a shared title in the last 25 years.

Next. Three Tigers that will make the All-ACC team for the first time in 2020. dark

While we knew Coach Swinney changed the trajectory of the program over the last decade, this really puts into perspective just how much he has impacted the Clemson program from a winning perspective and the fact that he believes Clemson is just getting started should scare a lot of college football fans across the country.
