Once again Clemson football has been named a favorite for the 2020 national title.

This time 247Sports listed Clemson football along with Alabama and Ohio State as the favorites to hoist the College Football Playoff trophy at the end of the 2020 season. Overall, they put teams into seven different tiers.

The only odd part to this was that they had former Clemson football rival UGA in its own “1.5” tier, just below Clemson, Alabama, and Ohio State. Everyone understands the love for the first three programs but the love for UGA is odd given they have underperformed under current head coach Kirby Smart.

UGA fans will want to argue that, but the fact is they have just one SEC title and one national title appearance and no actual rings or trophies to show for their elite recruiting classes.

All in all, 247Sports has 19 teams in their 2020 national title tiers. Many believe that the SEC will once again have two teams in the College Football Playoff final, though that belief is that Clemson will face Florida in one of the two national semi-finals.

Tier 1: Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State

Tier 1.5: Georgia

Tier 2: Oklahoma

Tier 3:  Notre Dame, Penn State, Florida, LSU

Tier 4: Michigan, Texas, Texas A&M, Auburn

Tier 5:  USC, Washington, Oregon

Tier 6:  Oklahoma State, Wisconsin, Minnesota

Clemson football continues to be betting favorites.

As far as Clemson football is concerned, the Tigers continue to be a heavy betting favorite to win the 2020 national title. They currently lead FoxBet betting odds to win the title with 5/2 odds. Despite not having Justyn Ross back in a Tiger uniform in 2020 as well as replacing half of the defense, bettors still like what quarterback Trevor Lawrence and running back Travis Etienne bring to the table.

While there is still a long way to go before we get to this point, it will never get old seeing Clemson football as a favorite to win a national title.
