The 2021 Clemson football WR position is loaded
When we look at the 2020 Clemson football team, there is concern about the depth of the wide receiver room following the announced surgery of Justyn Ross that will have him out for the season.
With Ross sidelined, the Tigers will be without their two top receivers from last season and that certainly could be a concern.
While we contemplate the depth issues that the 2020 Clemson football team will have, the truth of the matter is that 2021 will be the exact opposite. The Tigers have plenty of talent heading into this season, but it’s unproven. Next year, though, we’re going to see a crowded wide receiver room.
The 2021 WR depth is unreal for Clemson football
The Tigers have already garnered commitments from three 4-star WR prospects in this cycle. Troy Stellato, Beaux Collins and Dacari Collins- who all have a bit of a different skill set- will join Joseph Ngata and Frank Ladson Jr., who will both both juniors, as well as Brannon Spector, E.J. Williams and Ajou Ajou.
In addition to the eight guys listed above, Clemson football hopes to have Justyn Ross back for another season following a successful surgery.
If Ross is able to return, the Tigers could be three-deep at every single WR position.
If Joseph Ngata and E.J. Williams man the boundary this year, they could actually see their reps decrease slightly with Ross back in the mix potentially taking over that position. The amount of talent and options are endless and it’s something that you just are going to love seeing as a Clemson football fan.
The other bright side of having all of this wide receiver depth is the year that it falls on. The Tigers will have a brand new starting quarterback with D.J. Uiagalelei or Taisun Phommachanh taking over for Trevor Lawrence.
Whichever QB it is, they’ll have the benefit of having plenty of talent around them to make their transition easier.
