Clemson football is just getting started in regards to the 2021 recruiting class.

The 2021 Clemson football recruiting class is on pace to be the best class that the Tigers have had under head coach Dabo Swinney.

Last night, Clemson football got another commitment from a highly ranked and sought after recruit when Top 75 linebacker Barrett Carter committed to the 2021 Clemson class. With his commitment, the Tigers jumped up one spot in the national rankings to number three and improved their per player grade to .9556, which is tops in the country.

The best part of this class, Clemson is going to add five of the top remaining prep football players across the country. When looking at the remaining uncommitted recruits here are the remaining available prospects that you should expect to see wearing Clemson orange and purple in 2021.

QB – Bubba Chandler – 3 star – 21st ranked QB

Just last week, Bubba Chandler was an unranked QB prospect. He picked up four Power Five offers last week alone, starting with Clemson, and has made the leap to where he is currently ranked, which is astonishing.

Here is what we know about recruiting rankings, the more high profile offers you pick up, the more your ranking rises.

Bubba Chandler is going to go from an unranked QB to a four-star before the 2021 signing day in February. Coach Swinney’s offer was enough to get Chandler to de-commit from UGA baseball after 18 months and with the coaching staff zeroed in on this kid, he will eventually play both football and baseball at Clemson.

WR – Emeka Egbuka – 5 star – 7th ranked WR

Emeka Egbuka announced his Top 5 last week and that included Clemson; who is rumored to be his favorite.

Can you blame the kid? If you are a receiver and have dreams of making it to the NFL, why would you not choose Clemson? With 11 current receivers in the NFL, Clemson is WRU and has several more that will make that journey over the next couple of seasons as well.

Newly promoted receivers coach Tyler Grisham is swinging for the fences with this one and is going to land him when it is all said and done.

Tristan Leigh – 5 star – 3rd ranked OT

Offensive tackle Tristan Leigh has every offer that a high school football player could dream about having. He has offers from Clemson, LSU, Oklahoma, and Alabama. What makes the Tigers so attractive is twofold.

One, he is from Virginia which makes Clemson the closest to his family but two, Clemson will have an opening at left tackle after the 2020 season when Jackson Carman leaves for the NFL. Early playing time at a school like Clemson is something that every recruit values.

Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney has shown that the best player will play regardless of age and while media and other fan bases have made that an issue, recruits love it because they know that they have a chance to play early.

Dietrick Pennington – 4 star – 12th ranked OG

This will be a battle between Tigers for the services of Dietrick Pennington, specifically Auburn and Clemson.

Over the last several years, Clemson has gone into the state of Tennessee and taken their best players and that will happen again with Pennington. While he is just one of the 452 offers that Tennessee has extended in the 2021 cycle, he is one of just 71 offers for Clemson.

He has been to Clemson twice over the last nine months as he came to the Texas A&M game as well as the Clemson junior day back in January. He seems to have made friends with several of the prospects that have already chosen Clemson and as we know, early commitments are always the best recruiters.

Payton Page – 4 star – 7th ranked DT

Payton Page has been likened to former Clemson football defensive tackle D.J. Reader, though many inside the program believe he is more like Dexter Lawrence. At 6’4 and 360 pounds, he would be one of the largest prospects Clemson has every signed.

Page is seen as a lock to commit to Clemson before signing day and would be the cherry on top of a class that is filled with studs on every level.

Todd Bates is one of the best defensive line coaches in the country as well as one of the best recruiters in college football. Page wants to play for him and will likely do so in 2021.
