Given the current times, many are looking forward to football this fall including current Clemson football stars.

We are living in uncertain times but the hope of college and professional football in the next several months has given many of us something to focus on. Count Clemson football quarterback Trevor Lawrence among them.

Trevor rarely tweets out anything and a young man of his stature has to be careful and use sound judgment when deciding what to say in a public forum such as social media. A few days ago on May 12th Trevor tweeted out “BRING FOOTBALL BACK”, something that many of us could not agree more with.

Even the future NBA Rookie of the Year is ready for football to kick off in Death Valley. It is hard to blame either of them the 125th version of Clemson football should be the best team that has ever suited up in the orange and purple.

With students not allowed back on campus right now, Clemson football coaches are counting on team leaders like Trevor Lawrence to be doing all that they can to make sure that guys come back ready to go from day one and to be able to build quickly once everyone is back on campus.

Trevor went on to say that he missed being with his teammates and in class. The culture at Clemson is so heavily rooted that these guys miss one another; you cannot say that about every college football program in the country.

Former Clemson quarterback Tajh Boyd also added his thoughts on twitter a day later, calling both football and football fans “essential”.

Regardless of how badly we want to see these guys out on the field practicing and playing, they want in 100 times more than we ever could. Hopefully, we will be able to find a way to make that happen, even if it means less than capacity crowds throughout the season or that some programs are unable to play in 2020.
