Former Clemson football OL Tremayne Anchrum was selected by the Los Angeles Rams in the final round of the 2020 NFL Draft Saturday afternoon.

Clemson football fans saw seven total Tigers taken during the 2020 NFL Draft and the final one to come off the board was OL Tremayne Anchrum.

Anchrum, who started at right tackle for the last two seasons with the Clemson football program, was selected in the seventh-round of the NFL Draft by the Los Angeles Rams with the No. 250 overall pick.

Though there are questions and concerns about Anchrum’s viability at the next level, there’s reason to believe he hit the jackpot with the franchise that selected him and, as a result, he’ll be able to compete for a starting position right away.

When looking at the Rams, it’s clear that the organization needs help along the offensive line.

Though their offensive line isn’t as bad as some of the others in the league, the Rams still needed to add depth during the draft and will have some major competition when it’s time for training camp to start.

Not only did the Rams show a vote of confidence in Anchrum by drafting him, but they also must majorly trust him to become a solid addition because he was the only offensive lineman taken by the franchise.

That tells me the Rams have big aspirations for Anchrum.

The former Clemson football offensive lineman doesn’t quite have the length or closing out ability to play offensive tackle at the next level, so Tiger fans should expect him to move inside. It will be interesting to see if Anchrum puts on a little more weight during the summer so that he can more effectively play an offensive guard- or even center- position.

He has the strength, size and athleticism to be a mainstay at the next level. The biggest hurdles will be making that move inside and adjusting to playing greater competition.

Next. NFL dreams aren't over for the undrafted. dark

There’s no reason to believe Anchrum can’t do just that and become a solidified starter with the Los Angeles Rams.
