Former Clemson football S K’Von Wallace had to wait patiently for his name to be called, but it was all worth it in the end.

There has always been something special about Clemson football safety K’Von Wallace and now the fans of the Philadelphia Eagles are going to see just that.

Wallace, who was considered a solid mid-rounder who was trending upwards by many NFL analysts, had to wait a little longer to hear his named called than many Clemson football fans would’ve liked.

In the end, though, it was all worth it when the Philadelphia Eagles selected him in the fourth-round with the No. 127 overall pick.

Analysis:

Wallace is one of those defensive backs who is going to be instrumental in the ever-changing landscape of the NFL for many years to come. He has great athleticism and is going to be a strong safety at the next level.

The Eagles are getting a guy who has shown great leadership ability and a solid skill set to be a versatile player in their defensive backfield.

Wallace can come in and blitz effectively, but has also shown pass coverage talent.

The main knock on Wallace is the fact that he is a little slower than most would like to see and he sometimes has a difficulty recovering. Just like any safety, he can get caught with his eyes in the backfield, but these are things that he will only get better at with years of development as a professional.

In the end, he is joining a franchise that is looking to become a contender and there’s reason to believe that Wallace can compete for a starting position in the future and will at the very least be a nice added-depth piece and special teams contributor as a rookie.

Next. Now we just need the Raiders to add Deshaun Watson. dark

Wallace is now the sixth Clemson football player to be taken in the 2020 NFL Draft. He joins Isaiah Simmons, A.J. Terrell, Tee Higgins, Tanner Muse and John Simpson as former Tigers to hear their names called.
