While many continue to wonder about the future of the 2020 CFB season, Clemson football coach Dabo Swinney is positive we’ll be playing in the fall.

Clemson football coach Dabo Swinney met with the media via a conference call Friday morning and was asked about the current landscape of the College Football season.

There have been many CFB analysts, most notably ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit, who expressed major doubt that the 2020 season will happen as planned. Herbstreit appeared on ESPN Radio last week and offered a rather grim projection.

He said that he would be ‘shocked’ if College Football– or the NFL- was played this year because of the growing concerns surrounding the coronavirus in our nation.

While Herbstreit and others are doubtful, Dabo Swinney offered a more positive response to the Clemson football media.

"“I have zero doubt were are going to play. This is America, man. This is the greatest country on the planet. We will rise up and kick this in the teeth. September is a long time away,” Swinney said."

While no one can be sure about the upcoming season, the one thing to take away from this is Swinney’s positive attitude in a time where we need some uplifting content. It’s not to say that his prediction will come to fruition as there are plenty of doubts, but it is nice to see the Clemson football head coach offer some positive thoughts on the season.

In addition to talk about the upcoming season, Swinney touched on several other topics.

Swinney said he would like to see the NCAA offer an equitable summer practice policy- or OTAs- if possible. This would give programs a chance to finish implementing their system that they would’ve done in spring practice.

dark. Next. Is UNC developing into legitimate competition?

He also said that freshman QB D.J. Uiagalelei shows the same type of arm strength as Trevor Lawrence and, in many ways, makes the future No. 1 overall pick look ‘normal.’
