Clemson Football: 4-star DB Jordan Hancock trending towards Tigers

The 2021 Clemson football recruiting class could be getting a new commitment in the near future with the latest 4-star DB trending towards the Tigers.

The 2021 Clemson football recruiting class is currently ranked No. 3 in the nation-according to the 247 Sports’ Composite Team Rankings– and the Tigers have just nine commitments, compared to Florida (No. 2) with 14 and Ohio State (No. 1) with 10 commitments.

The Clemson football coaching staff has been careful in making offers in the cycle as the class will be a little smaller than the 2020 recruiting cycle and it seems that there could be an answer at defensive back.

4-star DB Jordan Hancock, a native of Suwanee, GA, received a crystal ball prediction from 247 Sports’ Director of Football Recruiting Steve Wiltfong this weekend following his visit to Tiger Town for Clemson’s Junior Day.

It was the first projection for Hancock among 247 Sports’ recruiting analysts.

Analysis:

When looking at Hancock’s film, you can see a really strong safety/cornerback prospect who shows physicality and elite play in coverage. He has great athleticism and does a great job closing out plays and taking angles.

Hancock is one of just 17 defensive back offers and is one of the most versatile in the group.

It will be interesting to see what impact the Clemson football coaching staff made on Hancock this weekend at the Junior Day and how that affects his recruitment moving forward.

It should be noted that the 4-star DB is scheduled to officially visit Ohio State later this summer, but that would obviously change if he did, indeed, make a commitment in the coming weeks or months.

In addition to Hancock, Clemson is also recruiting his high school teammate Barrett Carter (4-star OLB).
